Every second heart attack patient has normal cholesterol levels, but dangerous triglycerides from carbohydrates are elevated.
The artificial limit of 5 for total cholesterol is nonsense and only increases statin sales. If the omega-6 to omega-3 fat ratio in the body is 3:1 or lower, there is no concern for heart health.
For older men (over 60), the optimal total cholesterol levels are 6–8, and for women, 7–9. If these levels are forcibly lowered with statins, overall mortality begins to rise.
I personally eat a lot of saturated fat because I want to maintain good levels of sex hormones. My total cholesterol is 4.9, triglycerides 0.6, and my omega-3 to omega-6 ratio is 1. I have almost no risk for heart attacks or strokes. I keep my blood vessels clean with health-promoting spices and herbs like turmeric, ginger, beetroot juice, and garlic. I avoid seed oils, which have been proven to cause inflammation in the gut. Only olive oil is acceptable.
For heart health, optimal levels of Mg (Magnesium), Se (Selenium), D (Vitamin D), Zn (Zinc), and Fe (Iron) are crucial. Regular food is not sufficient to optimize these levels, neither for humans nor domestic animals, as soils, food, and feed have become depleted, processed, and aged.
Maintaining good heart health is easy if one knows the basics and keeps their lifestyle, diet quality, and supplementation in check.
