How to prevent and take care of heart problems?

According to statistics, in nearly every second person who has had a heart attack, has their cholesterol is  below 5, which is good. However, the ratio of omega-6 fatty acids to omega-3 fatty acids is almost always poor, significantly exceeding 3:1, which is considered a risk threshold. In oils extracted from seeds (such as palm, rapeseed, sunflower, corn, peanuts, etc.), harmful omega-6 concentrations are very high.

Taking omega-3 fatty acid supplements, eating fish cooked at temperatures below 120 degrees Celsius frequently, and consuming specific seeds and nuts can easily improve the fatty acid ratio. Avoiding fats and cholesterol in your diet does not work well. Eating natural and unprocessed fats does not increase heart mortality if other dietary factors are in good shape.

Magnesium and selenium are minerals that affect heart health, and in the poor heart health areas of Eastern Finland, there is too little of them in the soil, but in coastal areas with better heart health, there is more due to the old seabed and clay areas.

Finland’s heart health began to improve in the 1970s when selenium was added to fertilizers and cattle minerals. Still, on average, we get too little of it. Just 3 Brazil nuts contain good amounts (about 70 mcg each) of selenium on average, but a 200 mcg pill is at least a safe choice.

A silent inflammation in the body and blood vessels increases heart risks. Common inflammation tissues are the intestines, excess body fat, mouth, genitals, degenerated joints, and blood vessels. Inflammation can be extinguished through weight loss, antioxidants, exercise, sauna, cold-water swimming, raw plant-based food, and stress reduction. Dark berries, when consumed in abundance, are extremely heart-healthy. The combination of garlic and beetroot juice cleans dangerous plaque from blood vessels fairly effectively. Many herbs have cardiovascular health effects.

High blood pressure is a significant heart risk, which can be lowered with healthy eating, omega-6 fatty acids, and exercise. Moreover, exercise promotes good heart health, but it is not sufficient on its own.

The effectiveness of statins (700,000 people take them in Finland) and other heart medications is weak. If a patient relies solely on them, the risk of dangerous heart attack recurrence is likely.

Heart risks are relatively easy to prevent and even improve when you know the methods.
